Background story

This is a gigantic forest consisting of fungus type plants that have been distorted by the magic energy that was emitted in the past when Elves and Humans were at war with each other. This place had been the fiercest battleground where Elves and Humans fought to gain dominance over the continent but had been reduced to ruins by the powerful magic used by the Elves. As a result of the concentration of excessive magic energy in one place, the existing ecosystem was destroyed and had become a "rotten swamp." The spores that get spewed out of this rotten swamp are spreading to nearby regions. In order to prevent and stop the expansion of this "rotten swamp" the wizards of the ivory tower have erected a tower with a magical force field.

Geographic Features

Since the Sea of Spores used to be a fierce battleground in the past between Elves and humans, the remnants of battle are still found here and there. The towers with the magic force field that were put up to prevent further expansion of this rotten swamp are still being maintained by the wizards of the Ivory Tower. At the center of this area, one can still find the Mother of the Forest and Elves, bark of Cruma etc. from which various fungi and plants propagate. Overall, the place reminds one of a white desert and has the ambience of being bleak and beautiful at the same time. From the sky white spores fall down like snow flakes creating a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.

NPC

Orfen: Arachne Orfen was badly injured in the past when she was trapped by the fierce battle while trying to stop the war between Elves and Humans. Then she went into a deep sleep for a few hundred years. When she woke up and saw the devastated state of the place that once was a beautiful forest, she became enraged and started to attack Humans and Elves indiscriminately in the surrounding area. When the wizards of the Ivory Tower of Oren were dispatched to stop her mad attacks, she tentatively retreated and hid in this place, the sea of spores, while recuperating and regaining her strength. Nerupa is stating that the extreme behavior of her younger sister is due to the fact that her mind had become unstable after having been contaminated by the toxins from the "rotten swamp." The ultimate goal of Orfen is to obliterate the Human and Elf race and drink up all their blood and to spin out indefinitely long threads to cover the entire world completely. Even now, she is spinning out the "threads of future" to realize her scary dream. Belmont : The top-ranking wizard who has been dispatched from the Ivory Tower in Oren. He is the leader of the four wizards who administer and maintain the magic force field to prevent the expansion of the sea of spores. He can obtain the information regarding the rotten swamp. Otto, Ricardo, Heinrich: The wizards who have been dispatched from the Ivory Tower of Oren. Under the direction of Belmont, they are responsible for maintaining the magic force field controlling the "rotten swamp."

Major Monsters

Arachne Orfen: Younger Sister of Nerupa. She is in a state of drunken fury threatening adventurers in the region. She can exercise very powerful magic. Dead souls who are haunting the battleground of the past: Departed souls of soldiers who died in the past during the fierce battle are floating around in this place. Subordinates of the Ivory Tower: Golems and summoners are roaming around the place. They are being manipulated by the wizards of the Ivory Tower who have been dispatched to maintain the magic force field that stops the expansion of "rotten swamp." In addition, it is rumored that fungus, insects and plants that went through metamorphosis exist in this peculiar ecosystem.
